Guided meditation relaxation techniques are becoming more popular as the world moves more quickly and people lead lives that are more stressful. When this is the case, it is often difficult for them to clear their minds to get rest at night in addition to their bodies being full of stress and knotted up.
There are different types of meditation, such as guided imagery meditation, where a person will focus on the goal of where they want to be or how they want to act so that it becomes a part of them. All types of guided meditation involve some relaxation techniques. The mind has to be cleared in order to be able to focus on the other issues that the person wants to address.
Contemplation and Meditation
There are many different guided meditation and relaxation techniques and systems that are on the market today. Some are based in Buddhist beliefs while others lean more to New Age philosophy.
This gives individuals options in the various techniques that are out there so that they can find one that matches their lifestyles and belief systems. The first part of the guided meditation for relaxation is finding a comfortable sitting position where the back is straight and the position can be maintained for a period of time without becoming uncomfortable.
This will usually be a seated position on the floor on a pillow or mat to pad the buttocks. The back has to be maintained in a straight position so that the mind can stay alert and not get sleepy.
The person will then work on breathing in a normal manner, however in guided meditation relaxation methods, the person will also have to focus on the air flowing into and out of his lungs, thus clearing the mind of any other thoughts.
Once the mind has been cleared in the guided meditation for relaxation, then other techniques can be applied. There is contemplation in which the person thinks in a focused manner about the things that he has been reading about.
These readings might be from the Bible or the Dharma, and the person fixates on the lessons learned until he gets an understanding of the message. Once this happens, the understanding is focused on through meditation, allowing the person to deepen the understanding and for the understanding to become a part of his character.
These guided meditation relaxation sessions can be done through audio or video recordings, giving the people options in what method works best for them.
